Castmembers of FX's Hip Hop Uncovered recently appeared on Drink Champs, where they went deeper on some of their stories in the streets and the rap scene. Former Gucci Mane manager Deb Antney recalled an incident between the reformed rapper and another one of her clients, French Montana.
Deb described French Montana's failure to break out in the Atlanta rap scene before telling a story where Gucci Mane neglected to give French Montana a feature after he was paid $5,000 to do so.
"Gucci didn't do French. Waka did. Gucci didn't like French," she explained. "The first time [French] went into the studio to do a song with him, he paid Gucci $5,000 to get on the feature. And he was just sitting in the studio and Gucci was gone out the backdoor. Gucci just took the money and left."
Deb continued by stating that she ended up repaying French out of her own pocket.
Earlier in the interview, Deb also spoke about managing Nicki Minaj and revealed she had no idea until later that Nicki and Safaree were a couple.
"I never knew her and Safaree was going together," Deb claimed. "I thought Safaree was a gay guy that she hung out with."
She added that Nicki never made any indication that her and Safaree were a couple and would even request two rooms when she'd get booked. Deb said she only found out Safaree and Nicki were romantically involved after being put in the middle in one of the couple's arguments. At that point, she said Safaree explained he and Nicki Minaj's situation.
