In a clear example of poetic justice, serial killer Roger Kibbe met his demise in prison by the same method he used on his victims.

According to reports, the 81-year-old known as the "I-5 Strangler" for leaving his victims along the interstate was locked up on multiple life sentences before he was found unresponsive in his cell on Sunday. Authorities ruled Kibbe's death a homicide after an autopsy report came back, determining the serial killer was "manually strangled."

When correctional officers arrived at Kibbe's cell, his cellmate Jason Budrow, 40, was standing near the body. However, no charges have been filed for Kibbe's death.

Kibbe's crimes include the murder and rape of seven women over the span of two decades. In 1991, Kibbe was convicted of the murder of a teenage prostitute he committed in 1987.
