According to reports, three men became the first throuple comprised of three dads to have their names put on a child’s birth certificate.

The three men—Ian Jenkins, Alan Jenkins, and Jeremy Jenkins are a part of a polyamorous relationship that includes the trio. It was noted by CNN that the family includes three dads, two surrogates, and an egg donor. The men noted they are raising two toddlers in Southern California after going thru a long and expensive court battle to legally become parents.

The men noted they had been together for over eight years, and they fought hard to get all their names list on the birth certificate. When speaking to CNN, Ian Jenkins said, “we are hopeful that other people benefit from the experience we had, and that it's easier, less expensive, and less stressful for them." Jenkins highlight the issues they faced along the way, including adding another partner to his marriage, along with various surrogacies.

Despite their issues, Jenkins noted there hadn’t been any backlash from their circles. Jenkins said, “We've had zero negative feedback from coworkers and friends. Everyone seems to just be delighted about the arrangement, and that's because they know us. I think some people will look at this and say like, 'Oh, this is exotic. It's going to harm the child.' But people who know us know that we have been taking care of these kids as best as we possibly can."
