Kenya Duke filed for divorce last week after being married to comedian Gary Owen for 18 years. The news of the couple's divorce was followed by cheating allegations and a public fallout between Kenya and Claudia Jordan.
Exactly a week after news of her divorce went public, Kenya took to Instagram to give an update on her status. She admitted that she was "broken-hearted" but was feeling more optimistic thanks to the support from family and friends.
"One week ago today, I was so broken-hearted and crying, today I am sitting in a Skyclub bathroom stall with a smile on my face," Kenya wrote. "Good days and bad days. Today was a good day. I know, the kids and I are going to be ok. I was lucky to have a tribe to remind me who I am. But if you don’t have a tribe, it's ok. You only need 1 person you can trust to pick you up and get-you-together. You are going to be okay too."
Gary Owen and Kenya Duke share two children. Gary has not issued a public statement since the divorce was announced.
