A Louisiana judge has ordered NBA YoungBoy to remain behind bars until the trial for his recent gun charges.

Prior to the judge's ruling, a Magistrate Judge in California granted YoungBoy bond which included  $540,000 in cash, collateral in the form of two properties worth $1.5 million, drug testing, and an ankle monitor. However, the bond had to be approved by a Louisiana judge since that's where the rapper's warrant originated from.

The 21-year-old music artist was expected to be released on March 30, but the Louisiana judge ordered the rapper to remain in custody. 

The judge said that based on YoungBoy's offenses and prior criminal history, "no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community if the Defendant is allowed bond before trial. Defendant's criminal history includes violent crimes, and the crime for which Defendant has been indicted involved possession of a firearm. Defendant attempted to flee during his arrest, which is indicative of a lack of respect for law enforcement and the law. Defendant also has a history of drug use."

NBA YoungBoy has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm made in violation of the National Firearms Act. Despite the judge's ruling, he can request reconsideration for his detention if future evidence allows him to do so.

Attorney Mohammed Gangat returned to provide an update on NBA YoungBoy's case, revealing that a California judge granted the rapper a $540,000 bond.

"The bond for YoungBoy out of California is a $540,000 bond," Gangat claimed. "He put up half a million dollars in cash. In addition, he put up -- as collateral -- two properties worth an excess of $1.5 million and he has to wear an ankle monitor. However, he's not going to be on house arrest according to the bond set by the California judge. He simply has to wear the ankle monitor but is otherwise free to travel."

However, in a video post hours earlier, the lawyer claimed that after the California judge granted the bond this past Tuesday, the government filed an appeal and said the decision has to be reviewed by a Louisiana judge since that's where the arrest warrant originated from. The California judge gave the prosecution one week to make the appeal to a Louisiana, YoungBoy is expected to remain in custody until Tuesday, March 30.

Despite the appeal, Gangat doubts a Louisiana judge will disagree with the California judge and expects YoungBoy to be released next week.

"Given that the California judge found that these circumstances are sufficient for YoungBoy, why would a Louisiana judge find any differently?" he questioned. "The Louisiana judge is looking at the same facts, he's looking at the same charges, and he's making a decision under the exact same federal law. Sure, it's a different court and a different circuit, and the way the laws are applied vary somewhat, it shouldn't vary a lot. If this California judge said, 'Hey, this much money and these restrictions are good,' it would be very, very weird for a Louisiana judge to say, 'Oh no, no amount of money and no restrictions.' That would be very uncommon. I fully expect that the Louisiana judge on Tuesday will release YoungBoy."

Gangat previously predicted that YoungBoy would face RICO charges. However, YoungBoy's attorney revealed that the warrant out of Baton Rouge is for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
