Lamar Odom’s journey has found him being named one of the most celebrated NBA players to instances where he publicly struggled with addiction. Now, Odom has commented on the passing of DMX and said that he and the legendary rapper struggled with the same addiction issues in the same manner—silently.
Via Instagram, Odom posted a photo of the late rapper along with the caption: “ My brother, the fight is over you gained your wings ~ you changed the rap game, one of the greatest to ever do it ππΎπ₯.”
From there, Odom spoke on the issues both he and X dealt with in silence, saying, “Your death will bring life to so many of us celebrities who are ridiculed publicly but suffer silently with the struggle of addiction. Mental Health Awareness is a must in our communities, and maybe now after losing another G.O.A. T we can create real platforms with real solutions to address this, we can’t lose another DMX πͺπΎ." He ended by saying, “Fly high my guy ππΎ.” Take a look above.
