Jameis Winston got brutally honest with the kids at the first Kenny Shaw RAW football camp on Monday (April 19) when it comes to his NFL career.
Winston stated, "I went from being the No. 1 draft pick to everybody laughing at me. But guess what? I’m about that business. I’m outworking everyone at my position." Jameis got some laughs after pointing to Dak Prescott while speaking about outworking everyone, and stating, "Yes, I know Dak is right there."
He later told the attendees, "This is a kids game that men play...I encourage each and every one of you to have faith in yourself. Above any coach, any teammate, any friend that you have. Some days you're on top of the world, but only God and yourself know what you are going through. Trust in the Lord first and foremost, then trust in yourself."
Jameis was likely talking about the 30 interceptions he threw in 2019, and being the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the backup quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. Jameis is competing with Taysom Hill for the role of starting quarterback after Drew Brees announced his retirement, and the decision will be made over the summer.
