Earlier this year, it was revealed that Big Meech was denied a compassionate release from prison for a third time. In the release request, Meech and his brother Southwest T filed for a compassionate release, with T being released in May 2020, while Meech was denied. Now, reports surfaced noting that Meech is planning on appealing to the White House for a release from prison.
It was noted that Meech is a first-time, non-violent offender who is being held in solitary confinement 23.5 hours a day. The prison he’s being held in reportedly said the move is the only way to keep Meech from contracting COVID-19 in prison.
As of now, it was noted by a principal on his case that Meech’s time in solitary confinement is cruel and is why the push is being made for an appeal. Big Meech is scheduled to be released from prison in 2031. Stay tuned for more updates.
