According to reports, a Wisconsin man has pleaded guilty to fatally punching his son over a slice of cake in the middle of his trial.

Travis Stackhouse, 30, pleaded guilty to second-degree reckless homicide, child abuse, and child neglect for the June 2019 death of his 5-year-old son Sir Amer Stackhouse. He pleaded guilty after two days of testimony and faces 37 years in prison.

The Milwaukee father is alleged to have punched his son in a fit of rage after the kids ate most of his Father's Day cake. Prosecutors say Stackhouse punched his son and smacked him in the face. His son was pronounced dead the following morning. Reports say the child suffered "a ruptured stomach, bruised kidneys, and a torn adrenal gland, and died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen."
