According to reports, the twin brother of NFL player Tarik Cohen—Tyrell Cohen, was found dead this past Sunday. Tyrell Cohen was believed to have been electrocuted while trying to climb power equipment, according to officials.
Police noted the 25-year-old fraternal twin of Tarik Cohen was electrocuted following a single-car crash on Saturday morning, which took place in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tyrell reportedly left the scene following the crash, and he was unable to be located in the following hours. Because of that, the family of Cohen filed a missing persons report, and Tarik Cohen took to social media to ask for help in finding his twin. Officials continued to look for Tyrell and located the man after an employee at a Duke Energy station found a body that was ID’d to be the 25-year-old.
The Chicago Bears released a statement on the loss of Tarik Cohen’s brother, saying, “We are heartbroken. Our immediate thoughts and prayers go out to Tarik, his mother, Tilwanda, and the rest of their family and loved ones. On behalf of the entire Bears family, we extend our most heartfelt sympathies to all who mourn his loss."
