In a recently posted clip of his podcast, Joe Rogan and comedian Joe List had a conversation about cancel culture, and Rogan believes that it's silencing straight white men.
While speaking about how woke culture has shifted a change in comedy, Rogan asked, "Can you make a good comedy movie anymore, or have they made it so dangerous in terms of being canceled, that comedy movies are no longer something you can do?"
Rogan then added, "You can never be woke enough, that’s the problem. It keeps going. It keeps going further and further and further down the line, and if you get to the point where you capitulate, where you agree to all these demands, it'll eventually get to — straight white men are not allowed to talk. Because it’s your privilege to express yourself when other people of color have been silenced throughout history."
He continued, "It will be[come], you’re not allowed to go outside. Because so many people were imprisoned for so many …"
When Joe List started laughing, thinking Rogan was hyperbolizing, the host added, "I'm not joking. It really will get there. It’s that crazy."
Rogan concluded his statement by saying that people need to be nicer to one another, including people targeting others on social media for not being woke enough. You can hear the conversation in full above.
