Ohio rapper Boog The Bandit was shot and killed in Columbus after an attempted robbery on May 20.
The 26-year-old, whose real name is Courtney Nicole Bruce, was reportedly sitting in a car with one other person when a group of armed men approached them. A confrontation between the groups resulted in several shots being fired.
After the shooting, the rapper walked to the hospital and checked herself in. However, Boog The Bandit died from her injuries shortly after being admitted.
The rising rapper released three singles -- "Hot Topic," "Risky," and "Heart Away" -- in November 2020 and February 2021, all of which generated over 29,332 views on YouTube. HipHopDX reported that Boog The Bandit was also preparing for a collaboration with fellow Ohio native Trippie Redd prior to her death.
Police are encouraging anyone with information on the shooting to come forwards as they currently have no leads on a potential suspect.
