Jarrett "Jayecee" Crisler, an associate of Casanova accused of shooting two people on behalf of the rapper, wrote a letter to the judge in his case to request a new lawyer, according to documents obtained by AllHipHop. Crisler claims that his current lawyer, Dominick Porco, is attempting to get him to cooperate with authorities and testify against Casanova and other alleged members of the Gorilla Stone Nation.
In the letter, Crisler wrote, "I feel that Mr. Porco does not have my best interest in this case and instead of me being a step closer to going home to my family I feel he will push me to the other direction. Since the beginning of my case, Mr. Porco used scare tactics to have me admit to charges that I have not committed without even asking me what if, anything happened."
He added, "He has visited me 3 times since I have been here in New York the first 2 visits was solely used to offer me the opportunity to cooperate with the attorneys of the United States, its not until our 3rd visit he ‘realized’ we had a trial worthy case and that was after 2 visits and 5 months in jail with a threat from my father to fire him."
The shooting incident happened in October 2020 at the King of Diamonds strip club in Miami. It's alleged that a member of the Crips approached Casanova for flashing rival gang signs, and a fight ensued that led to two people being shot. Crisler is accused of bragging about the shooting in a text message exchange with another Gorilla Stone member.
The texts show that Crisler wrote, "Killed a n***a last night smh,” adding, "It’s on the news. 2 of them I only shot twice meaning I ain’t miss a shot. Greatest shot in the world U tryna challenge me? Lol" The unidentified person he was texting with responded by writing, "Attempts don’t count we gotta go finish that," after it was revealed that the two shooting victims survived.
The incident was used by a judge to deny Casanova's $2.5 million bail package request, as the judge felt it showed that Casanova is a flight risk and a danger to the community. He is charged with racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to knowingly and intentionally manufacture, distribute, or dispense, or possess with intent to manufacture, distribute or dispense a controlled substance. Additionally, Casanova is charged with and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He is expected to appear in court on August 2.
