Previously it was reported that MLB star Marcell Ozuna was arrested for domestic violence in an incident involving his wife. Now, details in the incident note that Ozuna allegedly threatened to kill his wife over an infidelity dispute.
According to Sandy Springs Police, Ozuna’s wife told them the MLB player “took both her cell phones from the bathroom while she showered without her consent.” When the wife demanded that Ozuna give her the phones back, he allegedly refused, with police saying, “he threatened to kill her, and she threatened to call 911.” Ozuna only left the property after the wife took his cell phone and called 911.
The incident led to Ozuna acting “aggressively” to his wife, even while she held a knife in her hand at one point.” Ozuna only stopped his alleged attack on the wife once police showed up. As of now, Ozuna is facing aggravated assault charges and family violence battery.

According to ESPN, Atlanta Braves star Marcell Ozuna was arrested Saturday for misdemeanor battery, aggravated assault, and strangulation.
Jeff Passan of ESPN broke down the situation, saying “Major League Baseball is expected to open an investigation into Marcell Ozuna following his arrest, sources tell ESPN. He could be subject to the league’s domestic-violence policy and faces a potential suspension."
According to an incident report from the Sandy Springs Police Department, Ozuna allegedly grabbed his wife by the neck and threw her up against a wall. Along with that, he hit her with a cast he had on his arm. Ozuna’s wife didn’t need to go to the hospital, despite having visible injuries.
The Atlanta Braves issued a statement on the matter, saying “We learned of Marcell Ozuna's arrest earlier this evening and immediately informed the Commissioner's Office. The Braves fully support Major League Baseball's policy on domestic violence which stresses to the fullest that our society cannot and will not tolerate domestic violence in any form. Until the investigation is completed, we will have no further comment and all inquiries into the matter should be referred to the Office of the Commissioner.”
