Update 06/11/2021 12:56pm:
Cedric The Entertainer responded to joke theft accusations made by Katt Williams earlier this week. During an interview, Katt Williams claimed Cedric's space shuttle joke from The Kings of Comedy was a rip-off of his joke.
Cedric The Entertainer offered a statement on Instagram Thursday and rejected Katt's claims. In Cedric's caption, he stated that there are similarities in all of his jokes to prove it's his original work. In his video response, Cedric claimed to have been telling the jokes years prior to the famous comedy tour.
"I wanna address this Katt Williams thing one time. I saw people on there really commenting about that," Cedric responded. "Look, I have no idea what this brother is talking about. That joke is over 30 years old, close to 30 something years old. I did The Kings of Comedy in 1999, probably had been doing that joke six-seven years before that. I don't even know if Katt was doing comedy then."
Cedric expressed his respect for Katt as a comedian and claimed to have jokes stolen from him as well. However, he took full ownership of the joke and made it clear that he didn't steal it from Katt Williams.
"So again, he a talented brother," he added. "I have no idea what he talking about. I've never seen Katt do a space shuttle joke. That may be something he believes is true. I've written a lot of jokes. I've had a lot of comedians steal my jokes as well, so I understand if he feels slighted by that but that's my joke. That's my joke, dog."

Katt Williams joined "The Morning Hustle" radio show to talk about his career, the state of stand-up comedy, and creating during the pandemic.
When discussing how the pandemic has affected comedians, Williams called the time period a "godsend" because creators were afforded the time to completely develop new ideas. However, he said the pandemic was harsh to comedians who depend on the work of their peers to guide their routines.
The comedian was later asked about comedians borrowing or stealing jokes and he revealed that Cedric The Entertainer allegedly stole his joke during the Kings of Comedy tour.
"When it initially happened to me, it crushed me because the comedian was already bigger and more famous than me and he took my closing joke and made it his closing joke on Kings of Comedy," he claimed. "The reason it hit so bad was that I was in the theater. I paid my money to go see Kings of Comedy and to see my joke being there and not me was about as disrespectful as it gets in our craft and I took it really personally with Cedric The Entertainer at that time."
Katt Williams continued by explaining that he's done enough work to get over the incident before acknowledging that other comedians have told variations of his jokes whether they'll admit it or not.
