Floyd Mayweather has been a part of three of the top four fights of all time based on pay-per-view buys. However, this past Sunday's match against Logan Paul is expected to be ranked 25th.
The exhibition match between the Youtuber and boxing legend is projected to have sold one million pay-per-view buys (Mayweather's top fight with Manny Pacquaio generated over 4 million buys). With a $49.99 price tag to purchase the fight, the boxing match will have generated $50 million.
Mayweather and Paul are expected to pocket at least $35 million and $5 million respectively for the fight. Mayweather was reportedly guaranteed $10 million to step in the ring plus 50% of the pay-per-view revenue, while Paul was paid $250,000 plus 10% of the buys.
Even though the match didn't break pay-per-view records, the fight's organizers are said to be satisfied with the results as the fight took place on a Sunday and Paul was relatively unknown as a fighter. This past Sunday was also Showtime's biggest day of new subscriptions since its streaming service launched in 2015.
Showtime has declined to comment on the final numbers.
