According to reports, former WNBA All-Star Game MVP and University of Louisville standout Shoni Schimmel is being charged with felony assault following a recent arrest in Oregon.

Schimmel, 29, was arrested on Monday and is facing felony charges including assault and criminal mischief, according to the Umatilla County sheriff's office. She was also charged with menacing, recklessly endangering another, harassment, and domestic abuse. However, it is unclear what the circumstances were that gave rise to this laundry list of charges.

Schimmel was chosen No. 8 overall in the 2014 WNBA draft by Atlanta. She was traded to the New York Liberty in 2015 and later signed with the Las Vegas Aces in 2018.
