A Manhattan City Council candidate's BDSM video was leaked on Twitter this past weekend, causing the 26-year-old to release a statement and claim he was a victim of revenge porn shortly after the footage went viral.
"I didn't want anyone to see that, but here we are," wrote Zack Weiner in a statement. "I am not ashamed of the private video circulating of me on Twitter. This was a recreational activity that I did with my friend at the time, for fun. Like many young people, I have grown into a world where some of our most private moments have been documented online."
While speaking with the New York Post, Weiner admitted to being a "proud BDSMer" and stated the video's leak was a "violation of trust." Weiner refused to name the woman in the video but said she was a former girlfriend and that the video was filmed 18 months ago.
The video was filmed at Manhattan's Parthenon studio, which is known for its BDSM dungeons. The footage shows Weiner gagged as the unidentified woman pours wax on him and clips his nipples with clothespins.
Prior to the leaked video, Weiner's campaign was struggling and has barely raised more than $10,000. Prior to running for city council, Weiner co-founded the independent film production company, Stag Pictures. His father is a co-creator of "Dora The Explorer."
