Hip Hop legend Biz Markie started trending on social media last night after death rumors spread online. After various fans and celebrities tweeted their condolences, Roland Smith stated that he spoke to sources close to Biz's family who said the rapper was still alive
Biz Markie's manager, Jenni Izumi, later confirmed in a statement that the rap icon was still alive but under the care of medical professionals.
"The news of Biz Markie's passing is not true," Izumi wrote. "Biz is still under medical care, surrounded by professionals who are working hard to provide the best health care possible. Biz's wife and family are touched by the outpouring of love and admiration from his friends, peers and fans alike. At this time, we ask for your continued thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
Last year, Biz Markie was hospitalized for an illness related to Type II Diabetes and reportedly suffered a stroke.
