A nine-month investigation resulted in nearly three dozen individuals getting hit with racketeering or drug trafficking charges, including rappers 9lokkNine and Hotboii.
During a Friday news conference, Orange County Sheriff's Office detailed the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation's Operation "X-Force." The investigation began in October 2020 as rival gangs, Army and 438, feuded throughout the Orange County area.
Sheriff John Mina -- who was joined by representatives of the MBI, Orlando Police, FBI, DEA, and ATF -- claimed the two gangs were feuding over music, women, and territory. He also stated the gang war was responsible for "over 30 shootings and several homicides."
The deaths of innocent bystanders were also highlighted including the 16-year-old niece of Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill. Three suspects were arrested for the shooting, including two teens.
It was also announced at the news conference that 15 guns were confiscated and investigators recovered 13 auto sears from GlokkNine's home. Auto sears are devices that can convert a semi-automatic gun into a fully automatic weapon.
In total, 34 people have been arrested as a result of the investigation, and 32 are facing racketeering charges.
