Orlando rapper GlokkNine appeared in court on Tuesday (July 13), where he pleaded guilty to identity theft and weapons charges, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
The 21-year-old rapper, real name Jacquavius Smith, reportedly used the name, social security number, and address of a person only identified as "S.S.," to obtain a PPP loan meant to aid struggling businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. GlokkNine shared an Instagram message to friends showing the loan application, which was intercepted by a wiretap by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Smith, who has a felony record dating back to when he was 16, is prohibited from having firearms, which led to felony possession charges, which he also pleaded guilty to on Tuesday. During an OCSO raid last month, authorities found a duffle bag with a loaded firearm and several rounds inside. He also had 13 "auto sears" which allow semiautomatic firearms to become automatic.
GlokkNine also pleaded guilty to possessing an unregistered firearm. The charge stems from a sawed-off semi-automatic rifle that was found in the garage of his grandparents' home after a search warrant was served. The rifle was stolen during a burglary in 2019 and wasn't registered to GlokkNine.
In addition to these charges, GlokkNine is also facing racketeering and attempted murder charges in state court. He is scheduled to be sentenced on the charges in his plea deal on October 6.
