Singer/songwriter Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and his wife, Nicole Pantenburg, announced their divorce Tuesday evening after seven years of marriage.

"After much thought and with great sadness, we have decided to end our marriage," the pair revealed in a joint statement. "We continue to care and have respect for one another and share eternal love for our daughter and her well-being. We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family."

The former couple didn't offer a reason for the split, but breakup will be Babyface's third divorce. The record producer married his first wife, Denise, before his 13-year marriage with Tracey Edmonds, with whom he had two sons.

Babyface dated Nicole for seven years before proposing. The two share one 12-year-old daughter.
