While speaking to CNBC, Charles Barkley shared his thoughts on unvaccinated people, stating, "Yes, I'm vaccinated. Everybody should be vaccinated. Period. The only people who are not vaccinated are just a**holes."

He then explained, "Can you imagine if one of these guys that are not vaccinated, if they get one of these players' kids, wives, girlfriends, moms and dads sick and they die over some unnecessary conspiracy bullsh*t. I think that would be tragic. There's s-h*t you can’t do at work and there's sh*t that have to do at work. So every workplace has rules and I think one of the rules [should be] that guys have to be vaccinated."

The report from CNBC also stated that up to 80% of NFL players, 90% of NBA players and 85% of MLB players have reportedly had at least one shot. However, there still are some players and coaches refusing to be vaccinated.

There was a change of staff with the Minnesota Vikings due to "the NFL-NFLPA COVID-19 protocols," and offensive line coach Rick Dennison was moved to a position as a senior offensive advisor for the upcoming season. Phil Rauscher will take over the offensive line coach role. ESPN's Courtney Cronin reported that Dennison had been let go from his position because he refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Patriots co-offensive line coach Cole Popovich also met the same fate after reportedly refusing to get the vaccine. However, NFL players are not required to be vaccinated, but they will face strict protocols and consequences like fines and game forfeits for being unvaccinated.
