One of Nike's most popular signature athletes spoke against the company's latest design for his upcoming sneaker. Despite being one of Nike's top sellers, Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving criticized Nike and the design to the upcoming Kyrie 8.
After leaked images of what was said to be the Nike Kyrie 8 started circulating on social media, Kyrie commented on one of the Instagram accounts that posted the shoe. In his reaction, Kyrie called the design "trash" and apologized to fans as he claimed Nike would release the shoe despite his disapproval.
"I have nothing to do with the design or marketing of the upcoming #Kyrie8, IMO these are trash!" he wrote. "I have absolutely nothing to do with them! Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneaker heads and true supporters of the #KAI11 brand."
