According to reports, Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Officer David Lance Dukes was fired, arrested, and charged with first-degree assault and battery for stomping a man's head to the concrete as he lay on his hands and knees.

Dukes ordered a 58-year-old man to the ground who is disabled and uses a cane due to a previous injury, forcing the man to move slow.

“Because of my client’s disability, he’s relatively slow,” attorney Justin Bamberg said.

Dukes's lawyer said his client is fully cooperating with the state police and their investigation. “This is a difficult situation and an unfortunate situation,” Dukes's attorney Jack Furse said. “He has absolutely no violent history, and he’s not a proclivity to violence.”
