Swizz Beatz and Timbaland recently hopped on Instagram Live to reflect on the recent Verzuz battle between The Lox and Dipset. After speaking on the event's success and energy, the two producers acknowledged The Lox's victory before Swizz Beatz called out 50 Cent over previous comments the rapper made about Verzuz.
About 8:33 into the above clip, Swizz Beatz asked Timbaland who G-Unit should match up against before calling 50 "scared." While Timbaland was optimistic that 50 Cent will eventually agree to do a Verzuz battle, Swizz Beatz continued to say 50 was scared before responding to the rapper's remarks about the event series.
While Swizz acknowledged 50's accomplishments, he took issue with the rapper saying Verzuz plays old songs. The producer responded by stating 50 Cent performs his old songs whenever he does a show.
"Listen, tell 50 don't be scared," Swizz said. "He talking 'bout Verzuz is doing old songs. When you go on a show, what you 'gon do? Perform new songs? 50, don't be scared we love you, you a cute human."
Swizz continued to encourage 50 to participate in a Verzuz challenge, noting he and Timbaland have the money to pay him. He and Timbaland also congratulated 50 on shows' success and called themselves "pro-50."
When viewers of the Live session suggested 50 Cent go up against Ja Rule, Swizz Beatz said the two rappers shouldn't be scared to participate together, adding, "Don't be scared, nobody. Ja Rule, don't be scared. 50, don't be scared. This is Verzuz. It's a celebration. If y'all was 'gon kill each other, everybody would've been dead already."
