T Rodgers, the West Coast founder of the Almighty Black P. Stone Nation Bloods gang, has passed away at the age of 64.
Rodgers was born in the Southside of Chicago, and his family later moved to the Baldwin Hills section of Los Angeles, which became known as "The Jungles." With permission from the Main 21 (the original 21 leaders of the main Chicago gangs), Rodgers was permitted to start a West Coast chapter of the P. Stones, which he grew to over 500 members under his leadership.
After seeing a rise in violence around him, T Rodgers founded the Sidewalk University in 1975 in order to reduce the violence on the streets. In 1987, Dennis Hopper cast Rodgers as Dr. Feelgood in the 1987 movie Colors. He was also the technical advisor to the 2001 hit Training Day starring Denzel Washington and most recently B.E.T.’s reality show Baldwin Hills.
T Rodgers was also a motivational speaker, who worked to rehabilitate former gang members, and he was known as a community icon in Los Angeles.
