The trial for R. Kelly has begun, and many are gearing up to testify against the singer. Now, the singer’s personal physician for the last 25 years testified on the stand in relation to Kelly’s case of herpes which he reportedly treated since 2007. This comes after prosecutors allege that the singer infected numerous people with the STD, knowing he had it.
Chicago-based physician Kris McGrath appeared in court under subpoena, and noted that he has been treating Kelly since 1994. The physician went on to say he suspected the singer had herpes since June 200, but lab tests came back negative. However, the physician said that Kelly and his associates would call him for refills of genital herpes medicine Valtrex, saying, “It was so often that I had memorized the number” to a local Walgreens.
Reports noted the earliest documentation of the physician prescribing Valtrex was March 2007 based on medical records presented in court by prosecutors. Along with that, the doctor noted that Kelly never paid him for his medical services. Stay tuned for updates.
