Sha'Carri Richardson's social media activity has been questioned following her last-place finish at the Prefontaine Classic. Since the loss, the track star has reportedly been caught liking Twitter posts dissing Jamaica and Jamaican track athletes and recently threw some shade towards the most decorated woman in Olympic track history.
Following her loss at the Prefontaine Classic, where the Jamaican track team swept the podium, Richardson was spotted liking a tweet that compared Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's looks to Lil Wayne after Fraser-Pryce video bombed her post-race interview.
Days later, an owner of a Jamaican hotel offered her a complimentary one-week, all-inclusive stay, stating Richardson needed a spiritual and emotional cleanse. Some felt the offer was a jab at the track athlete and Richardson rejected the offer while posting photos of a previous Jamaican vacation. However, she also liked a tweet that read, "Not y'all Jamaicans still talking s*** when y'all gotta walk barefoot to your coconut stand everyday for a living."
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, 11-time Olympic medalist Allyson Felix extended support and encouragement to Richardson.
"I know that she's obviously been through so much and I hope that she's just supported. I hope people rally around her," Felix said. "Obviously she has a great personality and she's brought a lot of attention to the sport and I think she'll be in the sport for a very long time."
In her Instagram Story, Sha'Carri Richardson seemingly responded to Felix's remarks by writing, "Encouraging words on tv shows are just as real as well nothing at all."
