New York rapper 2 Milly, known for hit single "Milly Rock," recently revealed that he's been incarcerated at Rikers Island since late July over a gun charge.
Without offering much information on his case, the rapper described the notorious conditions of the correctional facility, which have worsened since the COVID-19 pandemic. 2 Milly claimed the working and living conditions are so bad that inmates and correctional officers have sympathy for each other.
"The officers are losing their minds," said 2 Milly, whose real name is Terrance Ferguson. "It's the same guard for 24 hours. They're sweating bullets, not getting meal breaks. I start feeling bad for them after a while."
2 Milly claimed he has not been outdoors since arriving at Rikers on July 27. While in an intake bullpen, he said he and other inmates were not provided with showers and barely any food and water.
"There was more than 30 of us, no shower, barely ate," he added. "We were subjected to Mace because of other people fighting. No water."
The 33-year-old also witnessed multiple suicide attempts and had to sleep on the floor due to overcrowding.
According to inmate search records, 2 Milly was indicted on two felony gun possession charges in 2019. The rapper was convicted in May 2021 before turning himself in last month. His expected release date is January 8, 2022.
