A 29-year-old from Sydney, Australia was arrested in a $156 million heroin bust -- Australia's largest drug bust in nearly 20 years.

The investigation into the heroin operation began in December 2020 after Australian Border Force officers found almost 750 pounds of heroin smuggled in industrial equipment from Malaysia. According to a press release from the New South Wales Police Force, the street value of the drugs totaled an estimated $156 million, equating to more than 1.1 million street deals.

The unidentified suspect was arrested at his home and charged with "attempting to possess a commercial quantity of unlawfully imported border-controlled drugs." Law enforcement also search three additional homes and two businesses. The investigation into the group responsible for the heroin operation remains ongoing.

The 29-year-old suspect faces life in prison if convicted. Look above for additional images.
