Hip Hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa and his Universal Zulu Nation have reportedly been sued under the Child Victims Act. Bambaataa (whose real name is Lance Taylor) and the organization have been accused of sex trafficking and prostituting a 12-year-old boy to older men during a four-year span.
In the case of John Doe vs. Lance Taylor, the victim allegedly had sex with johns at the Zulu Nation's National Headquarters and Bambaataa's apartment. The victim claims he met Bambaataa in 1991 and became a member of the Zulu Nation security.
John Doe claims the Hip Hop legend started sexually abusing him after inviting him to work out at his home. According to the lawsuit, Bambaataa complimented his physique before touching his shoulders, biceps, and abdomen. Eventually, the music artist started touching the victim's genitalia and started the years-long abuse.
Similar allegations against Afrika Bambaataa started in 2016 when Ronald Savage claimed he was only 15 when the rapper began sexually abusing him. Following Savage's claims, three more men accused him of sexual abuse. Bambaataa was eventually removed from his leadership role in the Zulu Nation as a result of the allegations.
The Zulu Nation released a statement in regards to the recent lawsuit and said, "Nothing has changed since 2016 when these decades ago accusations first surfaced. This is a personal matter for Afrika Bambaataa and his lawyers to deal with and has absolutely nothing to do with the 10 year long UZN-DOCA mission, programs and projects which continue in the revolutionary legacy of both The Black Panther Party & The Young Lords Party to 'Serve The People, Body & Soul.'"
Afrika Bambaataa has been accused of assault, civil battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and gross negligence.
