Bay Area rapper Philthy Rich is currently out on bail after being accused of an illegal attempt to acquire firearms in Las Vegas.
The rapper was arrested and charged in July with conspiracy to make false statements in the acquisition of a firearm and making a false statement in the purchase of a firearm. In August, Philthy Rich pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released after signing an agreement that stated he would not commit any crimes or tamper with evidence.
According to federal prosecutors, Philthy Rich paid his co-defendant, Jasmine Garcia, to purchase firearms on his behalf. Garcia is accused of buying three handguns from a Las Vegas gun store and signing a document stating the guns were for her.
At this time, records do not indicate how much time Philthy Rich is facing if convicted. However, Philthy Rich stated last month that he was "facing real time."
Philthy Rich and his co-defendant are scheduled to being their trial next year. They will be represented by the same attorney.
