According to reports, singer Jaheim has been arrested for animal cruelty after police discovered 15 dogs caged and starving, including one that had to be euthanized.

On Monday, the arrest happened after police received a call about a canine in distress, said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson. When authorities arrived, they initially discovered six dogs in separate crates in varying stages of emaciation. One of the pups lay unresponsive in a crate and had to be euthanized. Others were found in crates that were filled with water and feces.

Police identified Jaheim as the homeowner, but according to local reports, Jaheim "was outside of the home and arrested for an unrelated Somerset County Violation of Probation Warrant, along with two active Municipal Court Warrants from Hillsborough Township and Newark."

Per Patch:

In total there were 12 mixed breed Pitbull Terriers, two American Staffordshire Terriers, and one mixed breed Boxer found at Hoagland's home. One mixed breed Pitbull terrier was euthanized and the other 14 dogs were examined and released to Long Hill Kennel in Hillsborough.

The singer was charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care to an animal, a disorderly person's offense.
