Kid Cudi took time to reflect on his debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, after Pitchfork changed some of its album ratings on Tuesday (October 5).
After one Twitter user pointed out that Cudi's project should've received higher than the 4.1/10 rating that it got upon its release, Cudi responded. He wrote, "Pitchfork has never given me good ratings, and here we are, years later and im still here. Its ok man. They dont need to change it. The entire world knows, even my haters, that this album was the one that changed Hip Hop forever."
He added, "I think when I was younger I thought it would hurt my career. Like the fans would listen to the reviews and not give the music a chance. Then, I realized over the years after I survived each era and made album after album, that nothing anyone could ever say would stop my light."
Cudi also reacted to animated character Peppa Pig’s album getting a higher rating than his, which you can check out above.
