Award-winning Swedish rapper Einar was gunned down Thursday night in Stockholm in what is believed to be a gang-related attack.
According to reports, the rapper was shot execution-style in an upscale suburb and died instantly. Law enforcement is searching for two suspects but no arrests have been made.
Einar, whose real name was Nils Gronberg, was killed a year after he was reportedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a rival gang. As a result, the police are investigating the fatal shooting as a gang-related encounter.
The late rapper topped the Swedish charts at 16 with the single, "Katten i Trakten," which has more than 8 million YouTube views since its release in 2019. Einar released four albums after the successful single and won multiple Swedish Grammys.
Einar was 19 years old at the time of his passing.
