According to Complex, DMX's three oldest sons, Xavier Simmons, Sean Simmons, and Tacoma Simmons, will be the temporary co-administrators for his estate. All three share the same mother, DMX's ex-wife, Tashera Simmons.

A statement was released upon the news, which reads, "They will now exclusively manage the affairs of their late father's estate. The estate has retained entertainment attorney Ron Sweeney of Ron Sweeney and Company to exclusively handle all entertainment related matters. Estate Attorney, Herb Nass is the attorney for the Earl 'DMX' Simmons estate and the sons as co-administrators."

Upon his death in April, DMX left no will, which led to his three sons and his fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, petitioning to be the administrator of his estate.

Herbert Nass, the attorney for Xavier, Tacoma, and Sean Simmons, addressed the announcement, stating, "The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs. The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate."

Nass added, "We need to collect assets and pay debts and administration costs. We don’t have a lot of information about his income streams, but now the temporary administrators have been appointed, we can ask questions and expect answers."
