Yesterday, news surfaced noting that Alberto “Alpo” Martinez was shot and killed in a drive-by that went down in Harlem. The information has found many people commenting on the death of Alpo, with reports saying Alpo tried to hide his identity with a costume at a Halloween party he attended before being shot. Now, the niece of Rich Porter, a former business associate Alpo notoriously killed in 1990, has commented on the death of Martinez.
While speaking to New York Daily News, Porter’s niece, who asked to be identified as Lorell, said, “We waited for a long time for this day to come and we are happy. That’s why we’re out here celebrating drinking champagne. Everybody’s reaction right now is celebrating. It’s a celebration for Harlem, period.”
Lorell continued saying “every dog has their day" before saying "Now my uncle can finally rest in peace, 32 years later. It’s just that the pain my mother felt all these years, I been feeling the pain with her. Every dog has their day and today was his. I believe in karma, and I’m glad that I was here to witness it."
