Update 11/02/2021 11:34am:

Dame Dash has responded to Jay-Z shouting him out during his speech for his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

During the speech, Jay-Z stated, "Shout out to Dame. I know we don’t see eye to eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments. And I appreciate you and I thank you for that." Jay also thanked Kareem "Biggs" Burke stating, "I appreciate you guys. Thank you for our journey. Thank you. Thank you for your contribution to this journey."

While speaking to Page Six, Dame reacted, stated, "It was beautiful. I'm glad he said it for the culture. We need to squash everything. So hopefully if that was an extended [olive branch], I'll spin one back."

Dash added, "I have no beef with [him] if [he has] no beef with me. Let's get the lawyers out of it then. Let's talk like men, but I definitely appreciate it. I would never want you to think that we have to go to the court to resolve anything. We can talk it out and the culture needs to see two strong black men working out a problem. Even if they worked together, they can go their separate ways, they can still be cool.

"We should not be divided. We have accomplished too much to be beefing … There ain’t no way I’m never gonna [not] consider [him] my brother — it’s just that we don’t see eye to eye."

Dame also reacted to Jay-Z being in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, stating, "That means I’m in the Hall of Fame. Whether we cool or not, him getting in the Hall of Fame is major. So congratulations to us, congratulations to him and thank you [to him] for keep working so hard to where he got to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Anything he can do to make me great, so thank you for even continuing to strive. He keeps my name alive."

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony recently went down and found legends like LL Cool J, Tina Turner, Gil Scott-Heron, and more being inducted, along with Jay-Z. Hov went on to give a speech that mentioned a bunch of his influences, including LL, and even gave respect to figures who were pivotal in his rise to power, like Damon Dash.

Jay-Z was inducted and found people like former President Barack Obama and Dave Chappelle speaking on the brilliance of the Brooklyn rapper and entrepreneur. From there, Jay-Z spoke on how he got to where he’s at today, noting that Rocafella Records played a big part. Jay-Z said, “We was like we gonna create our own company, you know? That’s hip-hop. And we created this company called Roc-A-Fella Records.”

Jay-Z continued saying, “Shout out to Dame [Dash]; I know we don’t see eye to eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments, and I appreciate you and thank you for that. And shout out to ‘Biggs’; he’s one of the most honorable people I’ve ever met. We created something that will probably never be duplicated.” Take a look above.
