Young Dolph recently compared his success to peers who have a major label backing their careers. He claimed in an Instagram Story post that he was commanding $100,000 per show as a completely independent artist.

"How da f*** im a independent artist and gettin 100rax plus for a show," Dolph wrote. "How da f*** @keyglock got more cars & ice than you & your ceo?"

When Akademiks highlighted Dolph's claims in a repost on Instagram, Soulja Boy joined the comment section and claimed Dolph was embellishing. According to Soulja Boy, Young Dolph is not completely independent and has a deal with EMPIRE. Soulja Boy also took time to claim that he's a true independent artist in a since-deleted post.

"That's big cap They signed to @empire I'm really 100% Independent no cap," Soulja Boy wrote.

In 2018, Young Dolph reportedly turned down a $22 million deal to remain independent. A month later, he signed a multi-million dollar partnership deal with EMPIRE.
