Halle Berry has been gearing up for the release of her new film ‘Bruised’ which focuses on the return of a disgraced MMA fighter who heads back to the ring after reconnecting with her son. The soundtrack for the film features Cardi B, who worked with Berry to curate the album. Now, during a premiere that went down this past Saturday, Berry gave a massive amount of praise to the Bronx rapper.
During the premiere for the movie, Halle Berry spoke on Cardi, thanking her and saying, “Thank you to Cardi B, she’s my partner in crime. I reached out to her. Of course, she’s the queen of hip hop, we paired and created a soundtrack and album that is not only historic, but a beautiful backdrop to the story.”
The comments from Berry reportedly sparked backlash, and Winnie Harlow seemingly responded to Berry’s comments during the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards, saying Nicki Minaj is “the one and only Queen of Hip Hop.” Take a look above.
