According to reports, a Michigan woman has pleaded guilty to attempting to hire a hitman through a fake website to murder her ex-husband.
Wendy Lynn Wein, 52, pled guilty to charges of solicitation of murder and using a computer to commit a crime. Court docs reveal that Wein's plea agreement caps her prison sentence at 108 months behind bars.
Wein reportedly went to the website "Rent-A-Hitman" to get the job done and asked for a consultation to get rid of her troublesome ex-husband. However, Michigan State Police say the site's owner created it as a cybersecurity test. After getting the feeling that Wein was seriously considering having her husband whacked, the site owner alerted police.
Wein will appear before Monroe Circuit Judge Daniel White for sentencing on Jan. 13, 2022.
