Drake became nostalgic during the 10th anniversary of what many fans believe to be is his best album. Since releasing Take Care in 2011, Drake has solidified himself as one of Hip Hop's greats. He reflected on his sophomore album in a series of Instagram Story posts which showed him highlight a former collaborator who later became competition.
After Take Care's release, Drake went on tour with J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka, and Kendrick Lamar. While Kendrick and Drake collaborated on multiple songs together, later years found the two competing for this generation's GOAT title.
Despite the silent rivalry, Drake highlighted Kendrick Lamar and his contributions during that era in Drake's career. One of Drake's Instagram Story posts included a photo of him and Kendrick Lamar posing backstage while both were on tour together.
In addition to being an opening act on Drake's Club Paradise Tour, Kendrick Lamar was also featured on the Take Care track, "Buried Alive." Kendrick has not publicly responded to Drake's shoutout.
