According to reports, Malikah Shabazz, the daughter of civil rights activist Malcolm X, was found dead inside her Brooklyn home Monday.
Shabazz, 56, was found unresponsive inside her home around 4:30 PM and was later pronounced dead. Medical examiners do not suspect foul play. Malikah was the youngest daughter of Malcolm and Betty.
“I’m deeply saddened by the death of Malikah Shabazz,” Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. tweeted. “My heart goes out to her family, the descendants of Dr. Betty Shabazz and Malcolm X. Dr. Shabazz was pregnant with Malikah and her twin sister, Malaak, when Brother Malcolm was assassinated.”
