This past week, it was revealed that Saweetie was nominated for a Grammy, with her and Doja Cat’s “Best Friend” getting a nom for the Rap Song of the Year.
Following the nomination, Saweetie was congratulated by a fan who pointed out that the rapper was in the same category as a rapper she freestyled for years before: J. Cole. The tweet went on to say, “That’s so dope @Saweetie being nominated in the same category she once freestyle for @JColeNC when she was in college.” The footage that surfaced of Saweetie found her dropping bars for Cole in what appears to be a parking lot. Along with the nomination for her Doja Cat collaboration, the rapper was nominated for Best New Artist. Take a look above.
