Rap disses have existed nearly as long as the Hip Hop genre itself. In recent years, rappers have moved from dissing each other to dissing the dead. One of the most notable rappers involved in the trend recently announced he will stop dissing his dead enemies after his upcoming mixtape.
In the past, Jacksonville rapper Foolio has feuded with other popular rappers such as Yungeen Ace, NBA Youngboy, and Kodak Black. During a back and forth with the latter artist, Foolio listed over 30 dead enemies before admitting the feud with Kodak was just a misunderstanding. Now, Foolio has announced on Twitter that he will no longer make songs disrespecting the deceased after the release of his next project.
"After my tape drop on the 3rd I'm done dissing dead opps and s***…that s*** childish I'm leaving all that in the past," Foolio announced.
Last month, Foolio revealed he was grazed in the leg after he was targeted in a shooting. In his Instagram Story, Foolio claimed he was involved in a shootout with enemies who allegedly fired 100 rounds at the rapper. Foolio posted a video clip of him showing his bullet as well as the pistol he used to shoot back. The police later stated that they only found 20 shell casings at the scene. No suspects were identified or arrested for the alleged shootout.
