A former Miss Brazil Transsexual was arrested on a beach in Rio De Janeiro Sunday for allegedly drugging and robbing men she met online.
Mikaelly Martinez, a 25-year-old who held Miss Brazil Transsexual crown in 2019, was filmed getting arrested and escorted from Ipanema Beach. Martinez is accused of being the ringleader of a criminal organization that lures men into meeting up for a sexual encounter only to be drugged and robbed.
"She used to drug men after attracting them to a sexual event or sometimes under the impression it was a sexual encounter," said Police Chief Leandro Gontijo. "When she arrived at the hotel, another trans suspect appeared who promised to take part in a threesome. The man was offered a drink and a drug was put in the glass. He then had his belongings stolen."
Martinez is also being investigated for similar crimes in Sao Paulo, Florianopolis, and Balneario Camboriu. In 2015, she was arrested in connection with a homicide.
Chief Gontijo has encouraged other possible victims to come forward if they have more information on Martinez's alleged crimes, stating, "It is important to emphasize that, if there are other victims, because they exist but people are too ashamed to register a complaint, that they can contact us at the 16th Precinct."
