DJ Akademiks claimed earlier this year that NBA Youngboy left J. Cole waiting at a studio session for eight hours before failing to show up altogether. During the Baton Rouge rapper's Clubhouse discussion with Ak, he responded to the report and clarified what happened.
NBA Youngboy did admit to having an opportunity to work with J. Cole but called the report a lie and explained why he didn't go to the studio session. The rapper claimed he wasn't in the right state of mind and didn't want to disrespect Cole's studio session.
"They lied and said I stood J. Cole up, man," YoungBoy said. "They lied and said I wouldn't go to the studio with him. I know who told somebody that too, though. Because it was only a few people who knew about that and that wasn't even the case. I was mad at that moment, I was going through something, so what the f*** I'm gonna go in this man's studio session for a meet-up with him knowing that I ain't in the mood to talk or in the mood to, you know, f*** around. [They were saying] YB acting like a b**** or something, but what the f*** I'm gonna go around this man for if I know I ain't in the mood to talk to nobody or sit down and even be around somebody."
During NBA Youngboy's discussion with DJ Akademiks, the rapper also addressed his YouTube earnings and explained why he'd work with Tekashi 6ix9ine before a handful of other rappers.
