Travis Scott has been named in over 250 lawsuits, totalling over $3 billion in damages, as a result of the deadly crowd surge that occurred at his Astroworld festival. The rapper has hired a team of notable attorneys including a lawyer who represented former President Donald Trump.

Daniel Petrocelli has been hired to represent Scott against the lawsuits seeking to hold the rapper accountable for the near-dozen attendees who died at the festival, as well as the hundreds more who were injured. Petrocelli represented Ron Goldman's family when they won an $8.5 million wrongful death lawsuit against O.J. Simpson, in 1997, and recently defended pop singer Kesha in a lawsuit against music producer Dr. Luke.

However, Petrocelli has also defended controversial clients. He defended Donald Trump against fraud lawsuits during his presidential run in 2016 and also represented Harvey Weinstein in a 2004 sexual assault lawsuit.

Live Nation has hired high-profile attorney Neal Manne -- a managing partner at Susman Godfrey, which is known as one of the top litigation firms in the country. Petrocelli is the head of litigation at Los Angeles-based law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP. His partners, Steve Brody and Sabrina Strong, will also represent Travis Scott.

All defendants in the Astroworld lawsuits are required to officially file their responses to the complaints before the second week of December.
