James Robert Crumbley and Jennifer Lynn Crumbley, the parents of 15-year-old Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley, are each facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter after their son killed four students Tuesday (Nov. 30) at Oxford High School.

Law enforcement sent out an alert to "be on the lookout" for the Crumbleys at 3 pm EST on Friday (December 3). Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told the media, "We have a host of detectives out, including our parents with the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service. If they think they’re going to not come with their attorney, but going to run, we’re going to remedy that."

Bouchard added, "We have our Fugitive Apprehension Team, the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service and others actively looking for them and have every expectation we’ll have them in custody soon. The action of fleeing and ignoring their attorney certainly adds weight to the charges. They cannot run from their part in this tragedy."

Bouchard then explained that he’s not worried about James and Jennifer Crumbley destroying evidence because police already executed a search warrant and gathered what they need.

More details have been revealed about the days leading up to the shooting, including Ethan Crumbley being caught looking up ammunition in class. Ethan's mother Jennifer texted him afterward, telling him, "LOL I’m not mad. You have to learn not to get caught."

It was also revealed that a drawing of a gun with the words "The thoughts won’t stop. Help me." Above a bullet on the drawing also featured the words, "Blood everywhere," and a person with gun wounds. Ethan's parents were called to the school to speak about the drawing the day of the shooting, and they resisted the idea of him leaving school at that time.

Oakland County Lt. Tim Willis addressed the situation, telling the media, "Both James and Jennifer Crumbley failed to ask Ethan if he had his gun with him, or where his gun was located, and failed to inspect his backpack for the presence of the gun."

After news of the shooting made it to the news on Tuesday, Jennifer Crumbley texted Ethan, telling him, "Ethan, don’t do it." Moments later, Ethan's father James called 911 to tell them that a gun was missing from their house and he thought his son was the school shooter.

Lt. Willis stated, "Further investigation revealed that the Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun purchased by James Crumbley was stored, unlocked in a drawer in James and Jennifer’s bedroom. The gun recovered from Ethan Crumbley after the shooting was the same gun that was purchased by James Crumbley on 11/26/21 in the presence of Ethan."

More details to come.
